Darm activ contains inulin, lactulose, 2 bifidus strains and 2 lactobacillus strains (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium infantis, Lactobacillus casei). The inulin that is contained in Darm active is a natural substance from chicory and serves the plant as a reserve substance. Chicory or radicchio contains a particularly high proportion of inulin. Inulin is a dietary fiber because it can not be digested in the small intestine. In the large intestine it is degraded by the bacteria in the healthy intestinal flora. There it serves primarily as a nutrient for the bifidus and lactobacilli. The metabolic products that are produced during the degradation of inulin stimulate the movements of the large intestine. This implies an increase of stool frequency and thus, prevents constipation naturally. Darm activ contributes to a normal intestinal function.
